Wilderness Yoga 'Seasons' Series ~ Late Summer

Warrandyte State Park ~ Pound Bend Reserve

In our Wilderness Yoga 'Seasons' Series we draw on yoga, meditation, pranayama (breath work), nature walking, seasonal bushfood and re-wilding practices, along with some wisdom from Ayurveda (the sister science of Yoga), to ground into the season, and rediscover ourselves in the wilderness. This cleansing retreat will guide us through late summer Wurundjeri Country; along banks of the Yarra River, winding through the gum-lined trails and tranquil vistas of Pound Bend Reserve and Tunnel. Together, we will journey to rediscover ourselves, and the wild, in the presence of summer renewal, as we begin the transition to early autumn.

Wild Tribe you asked, so you got it! We specifically designed these half day retreats to fit in around your busy schedule, and have curated stunning accessible wilderness locations for our 'Seasons' series. Easier to access for an afternoon retreat, these locations are complete with gentle walking trails, toilet facilities, and provide easier walking than our regular full day retreats in National and State Parks. Its all about bringing you closer to the wilderness around you. We can't wait for you to join us in the wild!

When: 2pm to 5.30pm, Sunday the 24th February 2019

Where: Meet at Pound Bend Reserve (meeting place provided during registration)

The walk: 4km (~1 hour hike). Graded Easy.

The yoga: Restorative flow (beginners welcome)

Investment: $70 for a 3.5 hour retreat

Your $70 investment includes:

  • welcome chai + eco Ayurvedic snacks on arrival

  • guided nature walk

  • restorative yoga class

  • meditation, mindfulness + 're-wilding' classes

  • intention setting (+secret eco-gift!)

  • peaceful views + good vibes + admittance to the Wild Tribe community

Guided by Dr Belinda Christie, Environmental Scientist + Yoga Teacher.

* Easy hiking grade: General level walking on well-made trails. Uneven surfaces are present (rocks, tree roots, leaf litter etc). Slippery surfaces at times, particularly after rain.

Note: This is not a "walk in the park" :) As with all hikes in wilderness areas, the walking trails will of course be unpaved. As such, all hikes (including those categoried as 'easy') will have plentiful uneven ground, rough, slippery and undulating surfaces. This is the wild after all! If you have any concerns about the trail, or any injuries or illnesses which you'd like to discuss, please feel free to contact us (there is also a place to provide this info during online registration).
